Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | The PF3000 will want 4800 BAUD, 8, N, 1 with GGA and VTG messages ON. All other messages should be OFF to prevent information overload to the PF3000. If the PF3000 gets too much information it will slow down normal operations. These settings are easily set on the EZ-Guide through the menu system.
The GPS goes IN to the PF3000 through the 9 Pin port next to the 25 Pin main plug. Since the 9 pin port is female, a null modem gender changer is often needed.
The PF3000 sends out power (not needed nor desirable with an EZ-Guide 500) on Pin 4. This is the reason for the sticker on the PF3000 that states that the port is a nonstandard port.
There should be some concern about this situation. Depending on your cabling this may or may not be an issue.
