Leica and TeeJet Partner to Give Farmers more Precision Options

Wheaton, IL, USA 26, August 2008 – Leica Geosystems and TeeJet Technologies today announced an agreement that will provide new precision agriculture solutions for farmers. Combining the technologies of these companies means innovative new products and solutions for growers. These technologies will bring welcomed efficiencies as growers face rising input costs.

Both companies work diligently to provide cutting-edge solutions for the agriculture market and will now combine Leica’s high-accuracy GNSS and auto-guidance systems with TeeJet’s guidance and material application solutions to provide a broader array of customized options for farmers.

Under the agreement, TeeJet will private-label and distribute Leica’s No-Drift™ mojoRTK auto-steer system adding RTK-accuracy guidance to their suite of precision agriculture products.

“TeeJet has a long history of building high-quality application equipment and control technologies,” says Rich Gould, vice president of product strategy with TeeJet Technologies. “The addition of Leica’s RTK system and Virtual Wrench™ technology strengthens our product line and gives our customers easy access to the latest in high precision RTK positioning.”

Under the same agreement Leica will capitalize on TeeJet Technologies’ range of vehicle-specific assisted steering kits to vastly increase the number of tractors the mojoRTK can steer. The list of kits offered by TeeJet currently tops more than 50 individual kits, designed to fit approximately 150 individual vehicle models. Initially, Leica will offer TeeJet vehicle kits through their network of premium resellers, quickly growing Leica’s steering platforms for the mojoRTK auto-steer.

“At Leica we are focused on providing high-accuracy steering solutions and our relationship with TeeJet allows us to bring that capability to more farmers than ever before,” says Trevor Mecham, North American business manager for Leica’s Agriculture group. “The industry has never seen as many affordable solutions as they will see with this collaboration of resources.”

The companies also plan to work together to develop additional solutions for the agriculture market that are easy to use, reliable and affordable.

Leica’s Virtual Wrench technology, which provides remote service and support, will also be expanded to support products for both companies, allowing technicians from both companies to provide customers with on-demand service and support like never before.

“The possibilities are endless as we combine the expertise of each company,” says Mecham “This is truly a marriage of two companies that believe in the future of agriculture and are ready to provide new and innovative solutions to meet the needs of today’s producer.”
