Central SD | Ron, I can't say with certainty that they don't. It's been a year now, and I've only used it one season. And like CB, my combine time is limited to dark when the 76 yr old heads for home. I thought that to be displayed as background they would have to be image files, and Ted would know better than me if that is the case. I just don't remember trying to turn on background images on the display and seeing if the varieties were there as different colors. Maybe, if they were viewable as different colors, they weren't labeled as to what variety it was. So I didn't really care to display them, if it didn't show the variety #.
As far as knowing what variety your in, you don't until you physically start a pass into the rows. For example. the headlands are planted to 51-45, as you're driving along the headland, the monitor shows 51-45 as the variety. As soon as you turn into the rows, lower your header and start picking, the monitor will change and indicate that you are now combing 52-62.
