You can change the lens to one with less distortion and only a bit less wide, but it's not a cheap option

The Phantom 3 for example has a wide lens but almost no distortion so it can be done.

You can minimise the effect by avoiding strong horizontals and verticals near the edges - for example keeping the horizon fairly central, or at least in the middle third.
To a point it's what action cameras do - it is *expected* there will be fish eye - and you can almost embrace the effect by keeping main subjects close and still being able to maximise what can be seen behind.
