this may be a stupid question, but have you checked the arm on the potentiometer?
was your platform on a trailer? if so, sometimes the arm gets flipped the wrong way
and the header will come up when the button is pushed "down". can't remember without
looking which way the arm points (forward i think), but you may want to check it.
