You don't need to speed up the feeder to get a grease gun on them. I did it just yesterday with the feeder slowed all the way down.

If you do want to adjust the feederhouse speed, you can't do it with a platform hooked on. It can be done with a corn head or pickup head but not a platform. You use the reel height button to adjust it.
