SE Iowa | I have flown the PrecisionHawk Lancaster model before, and I can tell you this: it's not made for agriculture. The airframe isn't a flying wing, so there are MANY more pieces to break off. Also, in a semi rough landing, it doesn't fair well at all.
They have some brilliant people working on the software behind the scenes, but they focus too hard on "counting whales off the coast for NASA" than creating a good product for farmers.
Prepare to pay WAY more than you thought. The plane sitting at over $22k is grossly overpriced for what they have. And if you let them do any image stitching and/or analysis, you will be paying way too much
Overall, I have had a bad experience with the plane mainly because it is too flimsy for agriculture. But I'm sure that other people have liked the platform, or else they wouldn't be in business! | |
