Check your header, under the auger in the header. Early headers didn't have a "floor stripper". It keeps the material down under the auger instead of running up behind it to the stripper on the back behind the floor auger. Also, the floor auger flighting may be a little too long and pushes too much product to the middle of the header and the feeder chain is having trouble grabbing it. A 918 on a 9500 seems a little small. Around here all I ever seen is 924's on them. The 900 series should have the floor stripper updates, but some people just changed the end shields and called them 900 series. Also may need to adjust the auger. it needs to be down and back to keep the material moving. Check the sprockets and other things mentioned too. May be time for a new feeder chain? If you happened to have the combine in the shop, they may have removed some links in the feeder chain to give you more adjustment. Great idea, but in adverse situations, you need that lower drum on the feeder chain as far forward as possible to grab that material at the auger. There are also strippers mounted on the front of the feeder house to keep the material flowing to the opening in the feeder house. They sometimes get damaged and removed, but serve a purpose if the conditions are right.
