If they're like the knotters on my 440, check the little spring that puts tension on the knotter hook. Sometimes mine will get plugged up with dirt and won't hold the loop tight so that the knot gets drawn down. Take them apart and clean them up. The manual says to adjust spring length 1 1/8-1 5/32 inches.
