Subject: Not sure about working out compression ratio

Ayr Queensland Australia 4807
We are going to make ethanol using sugar juice and I have read many places they say the higher compression ratio your engine has it will be more suited to run ethanol /alcohol so we thought we would use one of our 3.8 liter V6 engines I think these engines in the united states are Buick engines ,the engine currently runs on unleaded so it has low compression ration ,Some of these engines here have super charges fitted in the up market model of this car , question is by bolting a super charger on this would increase the amount of air in the cylinder would then change the compression ratio ,I have had a look around to see if I could find a formula however I can not find one , a normal engine is worked out by swept volume divided by clearance volume = compression ratio , adding 8 psi charge would change this , can anyone tell me a formula TIA for any helpful advice
