central - east central Minnesota - | I agree with Joe's post. This spring we tore out a pasture fence line with mostly boxelder and chinese elm (brush trees - junk). My brother is a pretty good operator and as Joe pointed out in his post, skilled operator can use smaller machines and get good production out of them compared to a larger machine and a unskilled operator. When the road for a development was put in, the contractor used a 55000lb cat track-hoe and for a couple of trees it struggled with them. This is what we used - kobota. Thumbs are a neccessity. The smaller machines have their place . . .
