Guess I have not heard about cam failures. Have had a few fuel gear pumps and a number of water pumps, even had one with fuel passages drilled wrong, but no cam failures on the QSX15. Our biggest repair problems are with the undercairage. If you keep an eye on them and change the oil regularly you will be OK.
