middle TN | It has been a while since I have worked on mine, but I remember taking off the plate from the right side , just below the pedestal. It is about 6"x3" with several bolts around the perimeter. Inside that plate is a bolt holding a "keeper" that fits in a groove around a pin. Remove that bolt and keeper, and thread a bolt into into a tapped hole in the end of the pin and pry pin out. I think it will be pretty evident when you remove that side cover. I don't know if this is reccomended, but I have also spun the steering wheel to the left while lifting the pedestal until the pedestal is clear of the housing. The end of the steering shaft is threaded onto a rod that pushes/pulls the shaft that is attached to the lever on the left hand side that connects to the long tie-rod. I hope this makes more sense when you can get it apart and see it.
Hope this helps!
