Robert,
I'm wondering if you are getting just seeds or partial heads in your grain?
I'm thrashing my oats this weekend and I'm having the same problem with a late flush of weeds. Seems like after we got the big rains all the weeds took off. I am combining with my 55 EB and not the 6600. I feel the spike cylinder does a better job than the rasp bar. John has some very good guidelines. I have my concave open enough that I don't have any hulls left on the stems.
The load I took in on Thursday was 294 bushel and only had two feed sacks of trash. Our elevator cleans all oats and pays for actual cleaned weight.
This year I planted certified seed and went from the usual 120 lbs to the acre down to 96 lbs. I think that's where my late weed pressure came from. I usually grow 100 to 130 bushel to the acre but this year I'll be lucky to be at 80.
