| I've got a few acres in the same situation. Cheat just booted, wheat at flagleaf. At that stage, I think it would make pretty tolerable hay. I've sold the first cutting off this field to a couple dairymen in the past when it was a mix of Alfalfa/cheat/orchardgrass, and they never complained. Of course, I discounted it some. Worst thing is, here, it will probably be a couple weeks before we could cut anything, and by then the quality of the whole works is going to be way downhill. | |
