Subject: RE: Touch screen on GS2?

Use your keypad (or the buttons on the back of the display) to move to the icon with the picture of a display on it. Then click on the wrench icon. Then click the "tests" tab at the top of the screen. Then click on the "touchscreen test" icon. If you touch the screen at this point, you should see a little bullseye icon wherever you touch. If you do not, then the touchscreen is bad.

If you see the bullseye even before you touch the screen, typically on the outside edge where the case meets the screen, or if you see the bulls eye when you touch, but it is half way between your finger and the case edge, then the case is touching the screen causing it to think that it is your finger. You may have to clean it out like Gordon said or even get a little rough with it to hopefully lossen whatever is touching it under the case.

I'm not sure about the warranty, but I beleive there is a reman program out now where you can trade in for a reman unit.
