I found that when applying NH3, I could do a better job but it actually made more work out of the task. For me the job of watching the lights and making adjustments to my steering was not natural.
When I had a visual reference to go by the lightbar was useful. I still use this lightbar on my spray tractor where rows are involved. I set the Raven lightbar to SED and use it to help get me on the correct set of rows. I then follow the rows across the field.
I have autopilot on two other tractors and as others have stated, this is really the way to go.
