I've ran into that problem using a laptop to tune my injected harley. The Keyspan one that I bought worked well but another brand (that I forget) didn't work at all. It makes a difference on the harley's as to how fast the transfer rate is on the cable, of which I needed one of 256k or above. There might be a difference that affects how your program works too.
