Your comment about  task names is very appropriate.  The problem, when using the same task name, is how to know if that planting done in the same field two days later is an extension of the original planting, just postponed because of a rain delay, or really a new task.    Using distinct task names makes it easier for all reporting software to correctly determine your intentions.
