Putnam Co.
Planting rate for Walnut trees are approx. 8'x8' spacing or 640 per acre.
Depending on how many acres, you will need a tree planter or a lot of help.
Much research is invloved on your part. The source and genitics of the trees you will purchase. Maintainence for the first several years is a must.
You may get state or federal help in placing this in a forest easement, along with their advice.
As the trees get older some will be lost to wildlife, disease etc.
About 80 years from now there will be 10 to 20 walnut tree per acre left and the Walnut Grove will be too beautiful to harvest.
