I agree, we are 3 seeds every 12". For us that works out to be about 41,267 seeds/acre planted. We buy the 4 cell plates and block off one hole in each line of cells. Usually the cell closest to the outside of the plate if I am not mistaken. People use all kinds of stuff.....silicon, superglue, etc. I could see the benefit of three seedlings pushing out together to bust through the soil surface, especially in a clay or any soil that tends to crust. You just have to adjust your rate using the chart for 4 cell and account for blocked hole.
