Subject: RE: Wheat fungicides - product of choice

We are seeing a lot of powdery mildew on our SantaFe. Same story last year. The SantaFe had some rust last fall already but there doesn't seem to be much on it this spring. Last year it held up very well against leaf rust, Overly did not! We will be treating the majority of our's this week with Stratego. Some of it had the first half of a split application of Headline+Bumper several weeks ago and will get the second half this week.

I would like to hear other's thoughts on ground vs. aerial application of fungicide to wheat. Is the improvement in application worth the 2-3% you run down? We've done it both ways in the past, but I can't say we have ever seen a significant difference other than dealing with the green wheat in the tire tracks at harvest.
