Subject: Use both 135 and 138 for best accuracy in the EZ-Guide 250 and 500

Sunnyvale, CA
EZ-Guide 250 and 500 users of WAAS corrections may enable both 135 and 138 as extra GPS satellites for position solutions. (ver 1.00 for the 250 and ver 3.00 for the 500) The use of 135 and 138 in the position solution will usually result in lower HDOP and this decrease in HDOP will cause a slight increase in accuracy. The data messages on the 135 and 138 satellites are now the same and there is no advantage of one over the other from a DGPS data correction point of view, so both 135 and 138 may be used at the same time. In the past, the data in the different WAAS SVs may have not been the same and there were small position jumps when the WAAS satellite was changed. Now you should not be able to detect position changes when the WAAS satellite is switched. The use of the WAAS SVs in the position solution was defaulted OFF and must be turned ON manually to take advantage of this improvement.
