Second the calcium! Had a beef cow do this a year ago first one I've seen before. Would not get up, Thought i would end up shooting her. Had a buddy that used to dairy, They came over an gave her calcium an if I had not seen it happen myself I would not have beleived it. Up an running around shortly there after. Suprised your vet didn't reccomend it right of the bat.
