Subject: Plumbing for 250's

Central Kansas
I just got a trailer for tendering the sprayer and have been looking for different ways to plumb things up. I have always used the inductor on the sprayer, but the old trailer we had was a lower deck and didn't have as much space. I would like to stick the 250 gallon totes right on the deck and suck the product right through the water pump if I can. I have seen this topic discussed before, but didn't pay enough attention. Can this be accomplished by plumbing right into the suction side of the pump (a flowmeter would be plumbed in as well)? Does a guy need a valve ahead of where the shuttle T's in to trim the suction line? I would prefer this to having to buy a caddie or stinger setup. I would also like to use this concept on an inductor as well. Any ideas or info would be appreciated.
