Subject: RE: JD 2010 PTO question

Northeast Indiana (Auburn)
If the shaft that is broken is from the flywheel thru the tranny to the pto clutch you will have to pull the top of the tranny off. If the shaft that is broke goes from the pto clutch to the pto gear box you should be able to get to it by removing pto gearbox. The last time I worked on one of these I had to replace the shifter for the even gears in the tranny and replace the 3 point asm. If you pull the 3 point casting off use eyebolts on the front of the casting and a chain around the rockshaft next to the casting. Do not lift the casting by the upper lift arm ears. If you do you may break the stroke limit brackets inside the casting. Also there is a hydraulic line you have to unhook inside the casting. You can get to it by removing the cover that is under the seat. Get a Tech manual from eBay.
