Subject: RTK Setup- sun?

NE SD

We are working on setting up an RTK tower again. The ideal location for us would be to install the base in town at the elevator our cousin bought. It is pretty well centered on all the ground farmed between him and us. The elevator is the typical type built in the 30's-60's. Wood with tin covering. There are two "houses" East and West, and a 100,000 bu. bin on the North side of East (new) house.

Local salesman says we might have issues with sun glare if we set up the radio there? Is that really an issue? I've not heard of it before. Another issue would be lack for a place of putting the reciever. We can't put it too close to the elevator at ground level due to sky blockage, but don't have too much area to be able to move it away from the elevator. Don't want some kid shooting it either. I'm sure that the houses and big bin flex and move when filled or emptied, but would it be enough to matter?

Also, is it true that we need an ITC reciver for the 12 mile radius to work? If it is that's horse hockey. We're table top flat to the west but to the farthest east fields we may need a repeater.
