Subject: Banding fertilizer

NE Mo
The thinking long ago when we all moldboard plowed, that the fertilizer should be plowed under. Some thoughts back then that if too much, or all the fertililty was put down with the planter, that it would cause a shallow root system. While genetics have changed greatly since then, is there any possibility that shallow roots are happening now. If this is happening, our corn is suffering from dry weather more than necessary.

Any ideas?
