Unless you are ready to buy a 300-400gpm pump, you won't see any benefit of 3" plumbing compared to 2". We went to a 11hp Honda pump and even with 2" plumbing it 2-3 X faster than the old 5hp briggs. I have heard bad things about the generic motors, reliabilty is bad and no parts available.
