Subject: EZ-guide 500 mapping desktop software

I just bought EZ-guide 500, and I am in process of upgrading firmware. I hope I can manage.
I also downloaded ArcGis Explorer, as the manual told that you can download your coverage data from EZ-guide and manage it on a PC using that program. But that doesn't seem to work, I don't even know what is wrong (the error message is: "No spatial reference").

So my question is: how can I make this program work?
Or maybe you know a better (and possibly free software, or offering trial version) which will do the trick?
For now I need the most basic functionality ie. coverage, swath, headlands logging, so it all comes down to one function: reading this ESRI file.

Thanks for your answers.
