Subject: N-Pact 26-0-0 applied on Wheat at flag leaf stage

Winfield, KS
Attended a presentation by a representative of United Agri Products that recomened the application a product called N-Pact to wheat at the flag leaf stage if additional N is needed for optimal yield. They referred to it as a Triazone slow release nitrogen which provides increased foliar nitorgen uptake and translocation, reduced volatility and excellent crop safety. The thing that supprised me is that they warned of no leaf burn with the use of this product at this growth stage. This is counter to all info related to late N applications when pushing for high yeild wheat. I would especially be interested in any info Phil N. has on this product and if it has every been trialed in his program.

If there is little concern of leaf burn with this product it would seem to provide an alternative to converting to stream bars as is recomended by others for split N applications on wheat.

Anyone have any experience with the product?
