It amazing. Glyphosate has been used since 1976 or so for control and it took 30 years or so to find a plant with resistance and then for it to spread in this weed which was a primary target for the product. ALS resistance in this took what, 10 years?
That's one of the benefits of multi-site activity in the plant as opposed to single site activity like most ALS products. Think how long 2,4-D and the triazines have been on the market as effective herbicides. |
