Subject: Need advice on new tires for JD 8770 4-wheeler

NE SD
Stopped at local tire shop today to price tires. Wow was I surprised at how high they have gotten. I have 18.4-42 firestone radials on it now and like them but would really like to go with a wider tire to put more rubber on the ground but salesman claims goodyear is the only company that will allow a the 20.8-42 (520/85R42) on my rims. I do not like the looks of the goodyear but he claims they have had good luck with them. I will stay with the 18.4s if I have to change rims. BFgoodrich is made by michelin and like the looks of them also but again claims they dont recommend the 20.8s on the smaller rims.
Anybody else got any opinions or should I just stick with the firestone 18.4-42 and be done with it. I have been happy with the way mine pulled but like the idea of less compaction.
Now here is the price.
Firestone 18.4-42- $960
Firestone 20.8-42- $1060
Goodyear 18.4-42- $907
Goodyear 20.8-42- $992
BFgoodrich 18.4-42- $883
BFgoodrich 18.4-42 $1080 these are the deep treads.

Tractor will be used only for pulling FC in spring and disk ripper in the fall.

Thanks for any comments
