The 5100 is a newer model of the 540 dcs or updated if you will. I've ran the Dolmar's for many years along with the stihls and for me the Dolmar's
are the Honda's of the chain saw world. I'll grab and use the 540 dcs a lot over my stihl 026 pro. The main difference in the 540 dcs to the 5100 is the outboard chain brake.
The 7900 to the 6400 is the same weight and will just do more. ;>}
