It is your crop insurance premium.
I have had the same experience where the agent steers you towards a plan and level that because of premium structure is beneficial to them.
You write the check " the gift" and this puts you in the drivers seat. It looks likes you have done your homework and based on that you have made the best decision based on all aspects that pertain to you. Nobody knows that better than you.
