Oklahoma | My wife and I are trying to graft some pecan trees. Tired yesterday using a regular pocket knife with very little results. Found a utility knife with a sharp blade and it worked better but still not quite good enough. Wondering what is so special about a "grafting" knife and if it will work better than a sharp pocket knife. Priced some grafting knives in Forestry Suppliers and they are proud of them for the price but they look just like a good pocket knife.
