Kansas | No steel in bias ply and if you have radials I'm gonna warn you now, They do not turn worth a hoot. Noone messes turning radials in this area Chip. Just cut the sidewall out and use them as is.
If your concerned about the steel though, Look at those big coal mining truck tires that are used for stock tanks. Cows use the steel pertruding past the rubber on them as neck scratchers.
You gotta give the cow a lil more credit. She's got tough hide. That lil bit of steel isn't going to hurt her in the least. If nothing else, she'll be eating while scratching herself.
