good luck finding anyone that will give you any ratings on your beam. I built a hoist in the shop a few years ago and had a 12x6 beam that I called several steel places to get a load rating and non would give any due to liability reasons. said that i d have to hire an engineering firm to design it to get anyone to give load rating on a beam for a hoist. finally found a shop that had the same i beam on their hoist and had a rating of 15 ton, thirty ft wide, that was way more than i was wanting so i suppose it will hold my 5 ton hoist ok. | |
