| My FIL had collected lead from X-ray room renovations over the years and has an unbelieveable amount in stock. It's very pure (unlike tire balancer weights) and worth a lot of money. The civil war reenactors need very pure lead for bullets. My FIL told me why, but I can't remember now. I think ww's would work fine for regular shooting.
We were using the lead to make 44 rounds for our 1873 Colt replicas. The "smokey" black powder was fun until we had to clean the guns every five minutes. We got smart and switched to smokeless.
