The biggest thing with talc is, you need less than what is recommended by the talc company so your monitors stay working. It will change with the humidity. If you mix before you put it in the boxes you can get more on than if you mix in the planter boxes. We put a 3rd to a 1/4 cup in box and then mix, when we put over a 1/2 cup of talc the monitors start to false read non dropped seed.
