Subject: RE: Net Wrap or Twine?

East Central, Nebraska
I think that anyone that doesn't use net wrap and does use twine has way too much time on there hands. Take a look at this:

http://www.deere.com/servlet/CoverEdgeVsTwineServlet

When i plug in my numbers it says i save 83 hours a year not sitting in the tractor and spending it where i want to be, like drinking beer and fishing. I also says it only costs me 60 cents per bale more to do it. So if you take 5000 bales x .6 = $3000 extra dollers it costs me to net wrap. But the way i look at that is if i take the $3000 and divide it by the 83 hours i am saving not tieing twine i am getting $36 per hour to drink beer.

If you ever have used twine and then go to net wrap. Going back is something very hard to do. It is like cutting hay with a swing type sickle windrower and having your dealer bring out a new self propeled disc mower. If you don't intend to use it from then on. Don't try it.
