FWIW - If you are makeing more grass hay then clover or alfalfa types, the flail conditioners were designed for grass. They will work for clovers/alfalfa, but may beat it up a bit more resulting in additional leaf loss,IF you don't take the time to readjust for that crop. If grass is your primary crop - then readjusting the machine when in clover should work - maynot be as good as rollers in the clover, but you should gain in quality in the grass. IMO . . .
