Subject: Re: trimble rtk

Sunnyvale, CA
When we compared the performance of the hydraulic interface with the electric motor with RTK, we found very litle difference in how well the tractor kept on-line. The EZ-Guide 500 can work with RTK and many people have been using the EZ-Steer instead of a hydraulic interface.

One of the reasons it was at first believed that the electric motor drive was not as accurate as integrated systems was because of comparing apples to oranges. The first EZ-Steer systems went out with the EZ-Guide Plus using WAAS and without the T2 gyros installed in the EZ-Steer controller. Now that Trimble is shipping the EZ-Guide 500 and EZ-Steer 500 (with the ful complement of gyros for roll and yaw) the performance of the Electric Motor steering is much better. You might want to get a demo of the EZ-Guide 500 and EZ-Steer 500 with RTK to see for yourself how it performs. It might save you a lot of money,
