Subject: RE: cereal rye for haylage

Bloomfield, KY.
Scott,

I cut rye for silage several times over the years. I used about 200# urea and tried to get it on in Feb.,if possible. I tried to cut about the 10th of April. It will come back if cut before it heads, but it was usually pretty ragged looking. I was more interested in getting the follow-up crop planted than getting another cutting of the rye.
