Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot | I personally do not, but my grandfather and now my father have always grown horseradish. They have been partners in a horseradish packing shed that sells raw root to grinders for probably 40 years. I think they run something around a couple hundred acres through a year.
It is an interesting crop to grow. Extremely labor intensive to sort, grade and top. Weed control can be an issue as there are really no herbicides labeled. Also a very small and strange market for the stuff. The price they get has increased very little, esp compared to the rising labor costs, and other inputs. | |
