Subject: RE: bailing tractor

Sunnyside, WA
Pulled 1034 and 1037 bale wagons with Case 830 gas, 1212 David Brown (both about 65 hp), and later CIH 5130 or 5240. The two older Cases were fine except for the hills. The 830 never quite had the right gear. The Maxxums were a perfect match for me at least. 8-12 mph and not usually short on power. Little tough to reach the controls out the back window, but the 1037 had all 5 cables mounted in the cab. Make sure you have a good stout drawbar or a drawbar support as there is quite a bit of tongue weight.

Also had a 575 baler and it seemed to work fine behind anything 80+ hp.
