I believe that the Powermax is taking the place of Original Max. It is supposed to have a better surfactant than the Original Max. I wonder if it is the same as Ultra Max that was sold 5-10 years ago. You may want to double check and make sure that the generic priced is a 32 oz. rate there are a few 24oz generics such as Durango.
