Kittitas Co. Wa. State | If it was me,,
I'd do some soil samples (alot of them!) And, depending on the ground (which you know better than anyone) and type of fertilizer liquid/dry,, it may require more fert. in some places of the field less in other places,, and some parts of the field may require a different fert mix all together. It also depends on whether is a SWW seed or HRW seed. Protein isn't a big factor in SWW but it is in HRW.
All else aside,, Fertilizer is too expensive to just be blasting the stuff out there without knowing what is actually needed for the crop. I figure a couple hundred dollars spent is money well spent if I correctly supply the fertilizer in the right amounts and type for the crop.
Just my 2 cents
