Brazilton KS | Figuring out grain prices into the future isn't too difficult. You can lock them in today. I have a problem with the guys who think they are "hedging" by pricing grain which they do not have the means to produce, because they are actually INCREASING their risk exposure, but if you have the land costs locked up then pricing the grain is a risk reduction tool.
Fertilizer costs are an unknown, but they are not nearly as major of a part of the cost of growing grain as th eland cost is. | |
