We can get those yields sometimes, but 180 bu. corn is above avg. without irrigation unless you're in the blacklands of the dismal swamp. Most years will be more like 150. Typical rent is between $75-$100. Access to water will bring another $30. We can't run pivots with wells around here. Have to use rivers and big creeks. Sounds like Iowans have more money than the boys down east. We put more hours on our tractors too. Must be all the raised beds. |
